Albert E. Yorio, Executive Vice President & Senior Underwriting Counsel Al joins KV National Land as Senior Underwriting Counsel after having served recently as the General Counsel to Liberty Title Agency from 2002 to 2009. He brings to his responsibilities decades of experience in real estate and title insurance law. Al built an impressive career in the title insurance industry as an executive with Chicago Title Insurance Company, Fidelity National Title Insurance Company, and The Title Guarantee Company. He supervised major claims at Chicago Title Insurance Company and worked on many notable cases in the industry. As an underwriter, Al was the lead counsel on such notable transactions as the sale of Reckson Associates’ Long Island portfolio, the sale of the Chrysler Building, the refinance of the Onondaga power plant, the development of the 84 unit affordable housing project known as Millennium Hills in Huntington, New York, and White Plains Courtyard, the first brownfield remediation in the Bronx, among others. He also participated as counsel on major transactions such as the sale of Peter Cooper Village and Stuyvesant Town and the development of the Astoria Energy power plant. Al also worked for many years in private practice where he specialized in real estate issues and represented developers, landlords, title insurers and their insureds including being appointed Of Counsel at one of the major real estate law firms in New York City. He additionally served as an advisor to various local governments. A graduate of New York Law School and an alumnus of Iona College, Al is a widely published author, lecturer, and also served as an adjunct professor at New York University School of Continuing Education and at Iona College.
